A phospholipid is a molecule in a dilemma. It has a head group that is attracted to water but its tails cannot mix with anything aqueous. Its a terrible situation to be in, really...I often find myself torn like that: I am a humanist at heart but in the words of the Twin Peaks character Benjamin Horne "Sometimes the urge to do evil is almost overpowering".

Writing a thesis is one of the few chances you will ever get to discover Somalian cinema, take up cooking, have a spotless apartment, iron your clothes, read the social page in Greek newspapers, watch the weather channel with so intense interest or start birdwatching. If you are lucky, the few words that pop-up in between will help complete your thesis too!
