Light existentialism: when should I turn on the lights?
It's so gloomy and dark today and it's only 11 am. I have the lights on but there is always this conundrum for me, when do you turn on the lights during the day? It's supposed to be late morning and still light but I can't see enough to read. What's more important: one's comfort (perhaps not going blind) or staying true to social form and turning on the lights when the sun goes down?

I'm jealous of you, actually. I have to go to work in about an hour. I wish I could stay inside on a day like today, with nothing to do but read or study and drink tea or coffee, and have the radio playing quietly in the background. Or just silence, and the sound of the house. I would leave the lights off for as long as possible, close the book for a while, and watch the shadows creep into the room.
Such moments are good for the soul. Enjoy them while you still can.
I know that I am fortunate, thomas. However, I find writing my thesis such a strenuous exercise that stress has taken over my little soul. But writing this blog as a distraction helps considerably, especially now that I know is not just a scream in the dark and someone is reading it. And let me just say that your suggestions will be followed to the letter.
I remember feeling like that a gloomy November in Hanover, Germany. As the day was worn out, a fake grim daylight, even at noon. Κουράγιο, φίλε. Θα ξαναρθεί το καλοκαίρι...
